Professor Felycia Edi Soetaredjo is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya (UKWMS). Her background is in Chemical Engineering with research areas in wastewater treatment and biomass utilization for advanced materials. He graduated with a Master’s degree from The University of Queensland Australia for master degree in 2005, and a Doctoral degree from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) Taiwan in 2013.
Prof. Felycia’s profile and inspiring stories were published by The Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia. She received various awards including the 2017 OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Award in Engineering Sciences: Engineering, Innovation and Technology, East and South-East Asia and the Pacific; 2018 APTIK Award in Research and Development in Science and Technology; Taiwan Tech Outstanding Alumni Award (2019), and Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award (2020). Prof. Felycia is also a member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences Academy of Engineering Sciences since 2020; Indonesian Academy of Young Scientists and Global Young Academy (2016-2021). Through national and international recognition, she contributes to STEM Education and environmental sustainability. Other contributions she has made through the Organization For Women In Science For The Developing World as a reviewer of doctoral scholarship programs and ELSEVIER-OWSD awards. She also leads the Collaborative Center for Sustainable Nir Waste Research which is a collaboration between the National Research and Innovation Agency, UKWMS, Institute of Technology Sepuluh November (ITS) and Petra Christian University (UKP) (www.zero-was.ukwms.ac.id), and Deputy Director of the Taiwan-Indonesia Science and Technology Innovation Center (Collaboration between WMSCU, NTUST, and ITS).
